Ok, I am having mixed reactions over this animated movie. I love the idea of a Sly Cooper movie because I am a freak about the games and there has always been excitement and speculation surrounding the idea, BUT there are so many things wrong with the trailer that was released back in January. First of all, the art style is an abomination in my opinion. The characters hardly even resemble the way that they look in the videogames (a similar complaint heard in regards to Sly 4, but this is a downgrade rather than an upgrade). Secondly, while the production company has managed to snag the same voice actors for Bentley and Murray, Sly's voice in the trailer is done by somebody entirely new (I think, unless the original voice actor recently had his throat torn out by Clockwerk and sounds entirely different as a result). I am, of course, still excited to see the movie, but I am certainly not impressed with some of the decisions made by the producers. I would love to hear your thoughts, whether you want to assassinate me over this comment or agree with me.

I think they are, and Bentley looks just as bad. I'm sure it'll still be a great movie though

I'm way late to this party, but I thought I would say that it's not a short film, it is full-length.

I think as long as the movie stays as close to the very beginning of the series like it is supposed to be, I think it'll be really good.

It's a pretty badass looking movie. Art style is a bit off. So is the character costume and design for the characters... slightly, in Slys' case, a lot, in Murray's. That said, I think it's fine.I could definitely see them wearing those outfits in any of the other animated styles and honestly, I dig what they did with Bentley's hat. almost entirely the same as what they did with the first two games. I will say, I think there may be a small problem with this. This scene, I can see, going about two different ways. A) Having no point to it and not being related to the center plot to the movie at all. B) Being the only point and center to it for the entire movie, which would be dumb and pointless for a story. Unless they can get this to somehow tie into the bigger story, then this scene would just be uncomfortably dumb. Do I think that will happen? Yes, actually. I think they'll somehow have this actually tie into something much more important. They did it with Sly 1, when Sly's just trying to get his Case file back and he suddenly discovers the names and locations of the folks in the Fiendish Five, or in Sly 2 when he's just going for Clockwerk parts and finds out about the Klaww gang. I doubt they'll leave this scene without point.

I looked on the Sly Cooper Amino page and saw a link to an article posted by BASSUB (formally known as Sooper Cooper) regarding the Sly movie. According to the article, Rainmaker have backed out of production of the film, due to the losses of money they had thanks to the failure of the Ratchet and Clank movie. Looks like we won't be seeing the Sly movie for a while then...
