Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves

Synopsis: Sly 3 Honor Among Thieves was the third installment in the Sly Cooper video game series, and the last to be developed by Sucker Punch Productions. Sly 3 was the first game to allow you to play as characters outside of the Cooper Gang, and some levels could be optionally played in 3D with the included 3D glasses (this feature was removed in the re-mastered Sly 3 on The Sly Collection).

​In Sly 3, a member of Sly's dad's gang, Dr. M, is trying to break into the Cooper family vault. Sly and the gang sets out to stop Dr. M, but they can't do it alone. To defeat Dr. M, they must assemble a team of specialists that may include some shocking familiar faces. The game did not end on a cliff hanger, and was intended to be the last Sly Cooper title in the series, allowing Sucker Punch Productions to move onto the critically acclaimed inFamous franchise.

Plot Summary

The game begins with Sly, Bnetley, and several unknown characters on Kaine Island. It soon becomes apparent that the group are trying to break into the Cooper Vault. The attempt is failed as a baboon named, Dr. M, catches them. Dr. M, controlling a gigantic mutant monster, captures Bentley! Sly rescues Bentley, but getts caught himself! Close to death, Sly begins to flash back to the events leading up to this moment... 

It started with talking to his dad's old frien McSweeny who told Sly about the Cooper Vault. It was clear they'd need master thieves to pull of the job, especially Murray. Murray had left the gang because he blamed himself for Bentley's paralysis. Sly and Bentley tracked him down to Venice, Italy. Murray shad been training with The Guru and said he could not rejoin the gang until "the black water ran pure" in Venice. Bentley and Sly discovered that a man named Don Octavio was dumping tar into the water in venice.

Upon confronting Don Octavio, Octavio throws Bentley to the ground, which makes Murray extremely mad. Murray beats the crap out of Don Octavio, and the gang moves on to Australia to tell the Guru that Murray is rejoinging the gang. Upon arrival, it was clear miners were destroying the Australian landscape, and imprisoned the Guru. With Murray heartbroken, the gang rescues the Guru, gets rid of the miners, and the Guru joins the team. after hours of studying blueprints, Bentley decided they needed an RC specialist for the Cooper Vault job. Bentley met just that on Thief Net, her name is Penelope. Penelope said that if the gang manages to defeat the Black Baron in the Holland bi-plane tournament, she would join the team. The gang travels to Holland and defeats the Black Baron, only to discover the Black Baron is Penelope in disguise! True to her word, she joined the gang. Bentley claimed that a master demolitionist would be required for the Cooper Vault job, and that the only option was...the Panda King. The Panda King was a member of the Fiendish Five who murdered Sly's parents. Sly was obviously reluctant to let him on the team, but it was the only choice. The gang set off to China to recruit the Panda King.

The Panda King agreed to join the gang, if the rescued his daughter, Jing King. A chicken named General Tsao kidnapped her and planed to marry her. After Sly defeated General Tsao twice, they managed to rescue Jing King, and Tsao was arrested. After China, Dimitri called in a favor Sly owed him from Holland. Sly agreed to being in his debt after Dimitri gave him the flight roster. Dimitri's grandfather, Reme Lousteau, was a scubadiving treasure hunter. One day pirates stole his treasure, and his prized scuba gear. Dimitri wanted the gang to gain back the scuba gear.

True to his word, Sly agrees to help. The gang eventually finds out that a pirate named, Captain LeFwee, burried it on an island, and they set out to find it. The gang eventually finds the scuba gear burried, but are caught by Captain LeFwee! LeFwee kidnaps Penelope and the rest of the gang escapes. Bentley thinks up a plan and the gang rescues Penelope. The gang leaves in their newly aquired pirate ship and set sails to Kaine Island, home of the Cooper Vault. -- Sly's flashback suddenly ends, and he realizes he can't take much more crushing from the monster that's grabbing him. Luckily, Carmelita and a group a mercinaries show up and save Sly! After several battles with Dr. M, the gang manages to gain access to the Cooper Vault. Once Sly reached the inner sanctum of the vault, Dr. M appeared! He had tracked Sly with a tracking device he put on his cane! After Sly and Dr. M battled it out, the Cooper Vault began collapsing! Sly got knocked out, claiming amnesia, but Carmelita showed up just in time to save him. After the entire gang escaped, Sly was nowhere to be found. Eventualy, Bentley found his gear, indicating that Sly left the gang.

The gang then parted ways. Murray joined the racing circuit, Bentley went with Penelope to make a time macine (Sly Cooper Thieves in Time *hint hint*) Sly has been seen with Carmelita, the Guru began training again, the Panda King returned to his daughter, and Dimitri became a professional diver. It seemed like the  Cooper gang would never never be back together again, until a little teaser trailer in the Sly Collection!

Easter Eggs

Alternate Bi-Plane: In Episode 3: Flight of Fancy, in Sly 3, while you are flying you Bi-Plane, press start. Then while in the paused menu, enter a code by pressing: R1, R1, RIGHT, DOWN, DOWN, RIGHT. Now when you leave the paused menu, your plane is the the Toonami Bi-Plane.
