Each member of the Cooper family has his/her own variation of the family cane with a "C" or "?" shaped hook, which is the ultimate thief tool. In addition to having the ability to pull off ultimate hiests, the cane is also capable of opening the Cooper Family Vault. Sucker Punch Productions has never made a replica Sly Cooper Cane, but I have include instructions on the bottom of the page showing you how to make your own!Sucker Punch originally came up with the idea for Sly's cane, because at first they didn't know what weapon to give him, so as a place holder they gave hime a brown stick with a yellow question mark on it. Somebody said it looked like a hooked cane, and Sly Cooper's cane was born!
How to Make Sly Cooper's Cane
My Sly Cooper Cane
Here is an instruction manual on how to make a Sly Cooper cane, like the one I made below. It is a slightly difficult process, but the end result is awesome! If you want a Sly Cooper cane and don't feel like making one, there is an official cane being made by either Sanzaru Games or Sucker Punch Productions, and may be with a collectors edition version of Sly Cooper Thieves in Time. This is mostly speculation, but there was an image tweeted of the cane. Click here to learn more about it.
-Step 1:
Get a wood plank or some form of wood product and draw the hook shape of Sly's Cane on it. Then cut out the hook from the board using a jigsaw.
*Tip: Use a picture of Sly's cane for reference when doing this.*
-Step 2:
Next, find a wood rod, wood dowel, wood pole, or stick to use as the handel.
-Step 3:
Now drill a hole in the bottom of the hook where the red arrow is pointing.
-Step 4:
Now, drill a hole in the top of the wood rod/dowel/pole/stick.
-Step 5:
Next, pour some heavy duty glue, like Liguid Nails or Gorilla Glue, into the holes you just drilled.
-Step 6:
Now, put each end of a short, small wooden dowel, stick, or pole into the drilled holes filled with heavy duty glue. Once the glue drys, the hook and handel with be attatched to eachother.
-Step 7:
Now, use sand paper to make all the surfaces on the cane smooth.
-Step 8, The Final Step!:
Now, for the final step, spray paint the hook of the cane gold or yellow, the handle brown, and the very end tip of the handle the same color you painted the hook, and your done!
