Sly Cooper Movie Cancelled

This news comes courtesy of VTNVIVI on the Sly Cooper Amino App. A user on Twitter by the name of MohamadGamez tweeted the image featured on the left. After inquiring about the status of the Sly Cooper Movie, Rainmaker Studios confirmed that they are no longer producing it. While they stated they may produce it in the future, I doubt it. Their Ratchet and Clank film adaptation wasn't hugely successful at the box office, and this is likely an attempt by Sony or Rainmaker to cut their losses. Producing a movie is difficult. Producing a movie after it gets placed on hold rarely happens, and it lingers in development hell for eternity. Besides, the movie would end up conflicting with the TV series. This news further verifies Verona's controversial claims the other week when she stated in a DeviantArt post that the movie would get shelved in favor of an animated series. So after three years of anticipation, we have the promise of something completely different. Moving on to new beginnings, and hopefully this Sly Cooper animated TV series turns out to be a smash hit and give our favorite raccoon the recognition he deserves!

Now this was unexpected. I'm honestly both surprised and not surprised at the same time. I mean with the movie being in limbo for so long and the failure of the Ratchet and Clank movie, I could see it coming. When I read VTNVIVI's post on amino and he generally sounded PISSED! I'm honestly not that upset that it's been cancelled as I felt that it would have been a failure like Ratchet and Clank.

Lol yeah he did sound pretty pissed, lol he's great. I dunno dude, I'm just a little annoyed mostly because I feel manipulated by Rainmaker. Everything just seems so damn uncertain all the time, it's always years of speculation and being lead on with this series. I'm sure I'll get over it right away if this Technicolor studio releases a great teaser trailer for the series. If they do it right, I'll be totally on board. I'm sorry I've been so pessimistic!

Not to steal VTNVIVI's thunder, but I'm thinking of making a one-off video or maybe a lengthy news article talking about everything since I have so many ideas and opinions on all of this, both positive and negative. So if you're interested stay tuned for that in the future

I was really hoping this movie would do good, because out of the 3 movies sony was making, this one actually looked great, the animation was stellar, and The thought they must have put into it had to be more than the other ones. truthfully if they had gone through with this movie it would have done well
