Sucker Punch Founder Tweets a Sly Cooper Cosplay Photo

It has recently come to our attention that on April 14th, Brian Flemming, co-founder and producer of Sucker Punch Productions (the studio behind the first three Sly Cooper games) Tweeted a picture of a man dressed up as Sly Cooper outside of Sakura-Con. For the uninitiated, Sakura-Con is an annual anime convention held in Seattle (Sucker Punch is located in Bellevue not far away). While Sly Cooper has seen releases in Japan, Sly is not, to my knowledge, an anime character. Of course people can cosplay as whatever they want at conventions, and this is in Sucker Punch's home town, but something seems suspicious. Could this be yet another hint that Sucker Punch is dropping suggesting that they may be working on a fifth Sly Cooper game? Or is this just a sentimental post by one of the key founders of our collective childhood?  Please let us know what you think in the comments! Also, be sure to like and Tweet this story as it really helps us out. And who knows - if this gets back to Flemming, maybe he'll end up dropping another hint! The excellent cosplayer in this photo is Mustang Revolver who can be found on FaceBook here. Check him out for other awesome projects!

Salutations, comrade! ^^
I am the cosplayer in the above photograph, and while I can say I was absolutely honored to run into Brian Flemming, I can safely say the man was simply thrilled to find a fan of the series. We had a long pleasant talk, took pictures, and said our goodbyes. Brian is an amazing man. I hope to meet him again :)

No way thats awesome! You certainly did an amazing job with your costume, and I can't imagine how hard it was to make that cane! Lol I don't suppose Brian mentioned what Sucker Punch has been up to recently, did he? Anyway, so jealous and great job with the cosplay! (P.S. You're okay with the picture being here on my site right? If you have a problem with it I can take it down)

Thank you very much! The cane was a Styrofoam nightmare for sure. I plan to create a better one for next year. As for Brian, he merely discussed fondness for one of his companies greatest successes and that he feels the franchise is in good hands now :)

I am absolutely fine with my pictures being distributed amongst the internet, provided that credit is given, if you dont mind? :)

Just to let you know, Sucker Punch is actually located in Bellevue, Washington, not Seattle.

Oops! Yeah just saw the post on Reddit sorry about that. Guess I thought that cuz inFamous: Second Son took place in Seattle. For what its worth, Bellevue isn't too far away! Anyway, just updated the article, thanks

Seeing as what the cosplayer has said about Sly being in "good hands", does that make you think that Sucker Punch might not be working on a new Sly game?

Well, that's what VTNVIVI seems to think. He's certainly an expert, but I think I have to disagree with him a little bit on this one. While Sucker Punch is Brian's company, I doubt he's very hands-on with game development, at least not anymore. Bill Gates didn't write code at Microsoft since the 80's or early 90's, but technically he was still running the company. Anyway, what I'm getting at is that what Brian says the series is in "good hands," he could be saying that its in good hands because his colleagues at Sucker Punch are working on it. Actually, the more I think about it, the more that makes sense... How would he know the series is in "good hands" since Sanzaru hasn't worked on a Sly game since 2013 and the movie seems to be in limbo? The only way he'd know that the series is in good hands, really, is if his company was working on it. Or maybe not. I don't know. But I wouldn't say that this means Sucker Punch isn't working on Sly. I guess we'll find out in a few days at E3 where Sucker Punch will likely unveil what they've been working on

Wow, you make a great point. Brian is a co-founder, he most likely wouldn't be that much involved with game development. It could be that Sucker Punch are deliberately teasing a new Sly game. In other words, they're doing a Hideo Kojima.

What's up Tyler! Now if you want to put it that way, ''good hands'' meaning Sucker Punch working on it, I guess it wouldn't sound too crazy. But, back in 2013, Brian said playing the game was spectacular and that they Sanzaru deserved all the credit. Sure deserving all the credit doesn't really confirm that Sanzaru will be involved in the future, but to me it seems like ''good hands'' means Sanzaru. He's the co-founder, I'm certain he knows the projects the team is working on. When they made the three games, logically the team felt like it was in good hands, meaning them of course. Good hands, if they were implying themselves, would mean they contradicted themselves during that interview in my opinion. Seeing as how they reacted to Sly 4, I'm certain good hands in this case means Sanzaru, they were happy with the project. Mat Kraemer was interviewed by a fan a few months back, saying they can't leave Sly in Egypt (made a video), implying they would work on the sequel if given permission by Sony. I also heard that during an interview of Sonic Boom Fire & Ice, they said they were waiting for Sony's greenlight. If the project was being worked on or planned by SP in advance, Sanzaru would've replied differently. To me, it seems like you thought they were implying ''better hands'' instead of ''good hands''. I just don't think SP went like 'hey, sure we liked Sly 4 and Sanzaru, but it's in better hands now meaning us' ??? Just feels like the opposite of what they felt during the interview. In my opinion, it's a new IP and Sly 5 will remain in Sanzaru's hands.
